Unlike some competitors, our rock salt comes from home – Mined in America at our Hampton Corners facility 30 miles south of Rochester, New York. With the ability to produce large quantities of de-icing salt each year, American Rock Salt helps ensure safe winter road conditions for millions of people in over 12 states.
American Rock Salt has played a key role in the economy of neighboring communities, creating over 400 new jobs in Livingston County and hundreds of related jobs in the region through the transportation, rail, and construction industries. We rely on the experience of several generations of miners to pass on their skills through support and training of our new employees.

Friendly Operations
We work closely with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation to ensure American Rock Salt remains environmentally friendly.
Our mine, with its underground screening and crushing operations, helps prevent dust and particles from reaching the surface. In addition, our quality control engineer monitors groundwater and river water to maintain compliance with DEC regulations.
